Alice's story:

When Art and Voluntarism Meet.

Sandra’s Kiss Goodbye!

Alice Allen dedicated over 22 years to volunteering at the Harlem School of the Arts. During that time, she encouraged and supported many young dancers who developed extraordinary talents. The Alice Allen Scholarship Fund for the Arts will support talented dancers at three distinct stages of their dance educational experiences.

Our Programs

The Alice Allen Scholarship Fund for the Arts offers four formal opportunities for inner-city youth to receive support to attend or prepare to attend schools of the art.  These opportunities allow the scholarships to target children who are at different stages of their art exposure and experience.  Just as Alice Allen assisted and encouraged students at various points of their dance exposure, the AASFA will continue that dedicated work to support students who are simply thinking about taking a dance course to students who have concluded that the arts will play a major part of their life's endeavors.  This approach allows AASFA to positively impact the lives of inner-city youth by providing exposure and access to their inner artist.
